Neighborhood Senior Session

When Beateel contacted me about taking her senior photos, she wanted to choose somewhere close to her home, we thought about doing something trendy in downtown glendale but decided to stick with something more natural nearby her home in her neighborhood. I really pride myself on being able to shoot a quick session (her budget was all set for a 20 minute quick session - yes, I will work with just about any budget!) in ANY location while still giving that full rate experience! This session was about 20 minutes right before sunset and got so many good shots with the water, grass and nearby gate, I event found some brick too utilize as a backdrop - that’s essentially 4 diverse locations in about 5 minutes each!

I wish I had behind the scenes footage of me standing on the brick portion of that gated wall so you could see how I was standing to get these overhead shots. I guess it’s a good thing I was a cheerleader in high school and used to balancing in weird positions. P.S. I was the most punk rock cheerleader there ever was so it’s still very on brand for me, promise.

On the topic of budget which I mentioned at the beginning of this blog post; I get that not everyone can throw down literal hundreds of dollars on photos and I don’t take my pricing lightly - camera gear, especially the good gear and editing software and well working computer costs a lot but I became a photographer to preserve memories for people, not only wealthy people. If you or someone you know needs a milestone documented and are on a tight budget please reach out, I promise we can make it work and if I can’t personally, one of my photo club members can use it as a portfolio building opportunity! I set aside 4 sessions a year as a pay it forward program to give back to my community - so seriously, do not let money stop you from documenting your family! Inquire here.
