Full Moon November 2019
The Wheel of Fortune is here to guide us into sweet release. To me this card symbolized the wild ride that is life, it just spins you around until spitting you out. When I pulled this card with the question of what lesson can I learn from release? I literally laughed out loud. Of course it would be this card, reminding me what I already know. There is no up or down, or right or wrong, just experiences. When we feel trapped we can get off the ride, we might not know where we're gonna fall onto but we have the choice and the power to jump.
For the remaining three cards I asked what guides do I have to support me though this release and I received the following women;
Rita Levi-Montalcini - Neurobiologist
Her conservative family opposed her choice to become a medical doctor. She grew up Jewish in fascist Italy,and the academy was closed to her. But that actually wasn’t enough to discourage Levi-Montalcini. who according to Massive Science set up a secret lab in her bedroom. Where she began her research on what would eventually win her the Nobel Prize for her work on nerve development. She discovered the nerve growth factor, which continues to be studied for its potential to restore damaged neurons. Her discoveries may yet help us defeat dementia and Alzheimer’s.
This card to me is important as my grandmother just completed her journey on this earth after experiencing Alzheimers and dementia. This card reminds me that actually whatever we want is accessible to us if we're willing to put in the work on our own, we can discover and understand and come up with ideas and solve problems no matter what our culture, society and even family expects from us, in this way Levi-Montaclicini shows us that we can release society's expectations and rise to our power through commitment and curiosity.

Williamina Fleming - Astronomer
According to Massive Sience's Guide book, 'Fleming developed a catalog system for stars and other astronomical features. She discovered 10 novae, 52 nebulae, and 310 new stars, most famously discovering the Horsehead Nebula in 1888. In 1906, she became the first American woman to be elected to the Royal Astronomical Society. Fleming also helped open the field of astronomy to women by hiring and supervising a team of women to help catalog stellar spectra, as well as publishing a paper focused on research completed by other female astronomers at the observatory.'
This card is powerful to me because of her position and prestige she was able to share her wealth with other women. This one is a big deal because as women we should be lifting each other up and supporting each other. So, in addition to her brilliance and observations, she also expanded the circle of women in this field and that sends a message to me of growing with the women around me and allowing them to lift me up and when I succeed to include them as well.

Mary Putnam Jacobi - Doctor & Suffragette
'Mary Putnam Jacobi had to fight for her education, vigorously protesting until she was accepted as the first female student at the University of Paris. She became a physician in a time when women were expected to remain at home, and an opinionated writer when the intellectual sphere was considered the purview of men.
When a Harvard professor wrote a book arguing that women couldn’t attend college because menstruation weakened them too greatly, the suffragette writer responded with a book-length scientific paper. Drawing on psychological data she’d collected from women, Jacobi proved handily that the gentleman’s argument was dangerous nonsense. Thanks to her efforts, many future women had to fight a little less hard to get an education of their own.' -Massive Science
When I read about Mary Putnam Jacobi the quote, "do no harm, but take no shit." comes to mind. This woman was like I'm gonna be a Doctor no matter what you say and she did it. Don't accept society's rules, make your own rules and do what you want and be the fucking bad assest version of yourself. Then when people tell you your opinion doesn't matter, ignore them and whisper the truth until everyone is listening.
